Rich, ripe layers of blackberry compote and licorice snap are offset by crushed graphite and polished black tea tannins. Silky, with a flattering robe of alder smoke. Shows good length and balance despite the opulence.

A generous, dense and solid red with dark berry, black plum, leather and clove aromas. Full-bodied with creamy tannins and texture. Dense fruit and a generous finish.

Based on 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre and aged 24 months in old barrels and foudres, the 2023 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes sports a dense ruby/plum hue as well as powerful aromatics of black cherries, roasted herbs, licorice, and peppery garrigue. It's medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, and has ripe tannins. It's beautifully done and another incredibly satisfying effort from this team that will drink well over the coming decade.
