Bright crimson. Solid and with some granite influence but it’s tough to taste this just after visiting the master of Hermitage Jean-Louis Chave. This is worthy but a bit lighter than some Hermitages. Cool and refreshing – if one may be permitted to say that about this great appellation. Sinewy and one of their lighter Hermitages.

Inky ruby. Dark berries, incense and fresh flowers on the oak-spiced nose. Offers velvety, palate-staining black and blue fruit and vanilla flavors and a mounting spicy element. Chewy and appealingly sweet on the incisive, smoke-tinged finish, which is firmed by slowly building, fine-grained tannins. Quite structured for the vintage.
