Le millésime

La Qualité est une fois de plus au rendez-vous, ce qui constitue une appréciable compensation. En effet, les rendements de 2010 sont extrêmement bas, plus faibles que ceux de 2009, déjà considéré comme un Millésime très capricieux.

This is gorgeous, with warm espresso, bittersweet ganache and Black Forest cake notes leading the way, followed quickly by lush currant preserves, crushed plum and hoisin sauce notes. The long, graphite-filled finish has terrific cut, while a smoldering feel lingers.

Deep violet color. Intense mineral- and floral-accented aromas of raspberry, cherry and herbs, with slow-mounting spiciness. Offers elegant, tightly focused raspberry and boysenberry flavors and notes of clove, allspice and tangy minerals. Finishes bright, nervy and very long.

The 2010 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes is pure garrigue, kirsch liqueur, lavender and licorice. Full-bodied and unctuously textured, it displays the vintage’s slightly higher acid and lower pH style that gives it a precision and vibrancy that is unusual in the southern Rhone.

Grenache with 25% Syrah. Dark and brooding. More open on the nose, and richly welcoming, than most of this producer’s wines. Very concentrated but with some real sweetness and with tannins that are not too brutal.
